Capital Playhouse is excited to be entering its 24th KIDS AT PLAY season in summer 2010. Youth ages 8 through 16 may enroll in the following productions: Willy Wonka, The Sound of Music, Seussical, Aida, and The Mikado. Each play rehearses for five weeks at Capital Playhouse and then culminates in performances with professional choreography, sets, lights, costumes and orchestras at South Puget Sound Community College's beautiful KJM Center for the Arts. Cast sizes are limited and typically range between 45 and 60 students. Students who have participated in the program for four years are eligible to participate in our graduation ceremony and receive their graduation ring at age 16 – this is a time-honored event! For students ages 5 to 7 we offer our Tykes program. Tykes provides younger students with the opportunity to learn theatre skills as a team, as well as the chance to show it all off on stage with a performance at the end of the four-week rehearsal period. You can register any time prior to the first day of rehearsal for each show.
